Today, I would like to introduce a really helpful book: Colloquial Swedish (Colloquial Series). This book can be used by beginners who like to start learning Swedish by themselves. It also can be used as an extra practice for those who are attending Swedish courses.

The book covers vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and different subjects such as Traveling, Holiday, Cooking, and so many other subjects.

Upon finishing this book, students will achieve a good command of written and spoken Swedish.

The purpose of this post is to introduce a really useful webpage which can help you along your way in learning Swedish language. This webpage is called Lexin (Click here) which belongs to KTH university website. This webpage offers a bilingual dictionary (supports 19 languages) with so many features. Some of the features are:

Definition or description of the word in Swedish and in your preferred language is presented.
Pronunciation of the word is presented (you just need to click on the LYSSNA link)
different forms of the word are presented. (For instance, if the word is a verb, this word is presented in its different forms i.e. present form, infinitive form, past perfect, and so on)
Examples of the word in context are presented
Some idioms are presented.
A virtual keyboard is available in your preferred language.
etc.

Swedish Alphabet

The starting point to learn a language is to learn its alphabet. In this post the Swedish alphabet is introduced. Swedish alphabet contains 29 letters. Three letters more than English alphabet.
